The main event

I'm still a little puzzled on how I forgot to do this entry but some how it got lost in the mix and I just happen to find it when I was looking at our Edit Post history. If you remember, back in June we drove back to Minnesota for my brother, Doug's wedding and I blogged about the whole trip but I didn't blog about the wedding it self. How is that even possible?

Well here it is!! It's been a family tradition at all of my brothers weddings to sing, "You lost the love and feeling." to the bride and Doug and Lisa's wedding was no different. Here we are acting like Maverick and Goose singing away.
Here is a picture of my brothers, my mom and I at the reception. This is before Josh got way to drunk and took off ALL his clothes. (J/K)
Kristi with my dad. This was before my dad got totally drunk and took off all his clothes. (TOTALLY KIDDING)
Here are all my sister-in-laws giving a Root Beer Barrel salute to the bride and groom.

Bottoms up!! If your curious the order of my sister in laws goes like this. Starting in back we have, Angie (Married to Shawn), Kristi (Married to the good looking one), Laura (Married to Josh), Courtney (Married to Kurt), and Sara (Married to Eric)
After them it was all my brothers turn. You may notice that I am not in this picture and that is because at my brother Shawn's (The ninja on the end)wedding. Eric got me so sick on Root Beer Barrels that I can't drink them any more in fact the smell of them makes me sick.
I think you can see that the Kung-Fu Ninja has done this before. For the people that don't know starting in the back is my brother Eric, Josh, Kurt, Doug, and Shawn. You can see my sister-in-law Laura better in the back of these two pictures then you can in the other one.

Here I am with my mom and dad at the church before the ceremony.
A picture of Addy with all her cousins. We have Keaton, Oliver, Savannah, and Addy just taking a little break before all the festivities begin.
We had a GREAT TIME!! We want to say Congrats to Doug and Lisa on their special day or should we say Happy Anniversary since it took us forever to post this!!

Trick or Turkey?

I'll explain the title in a moment. I first have to ask, What do 2 penguins and

a duck equal?

The cutest kids ever!! Here is the whole family I guess we were Penguin-Duck farmers this halloween. I'm not sure if you know this but there is a big need for these type of farmers in the United States. I think we might be the only family that do this type of work in the Pacific Northwest so if your thinking about becoming a Penguin-Duck Farmer I would recommend it.

We also had the Dyk's over to take part in the festivities. Here is a picture of Andrew or should I say "Winnie the Pooh" along with Mason the bumble bee and the rest of the kids.

The reason why it is Trick or Turkey is because we had a whole Thanksgiving spread before we headed out. That's right!! Dressing, turkey, mash potato's, gravy, squash, green bean casserole, and everything else. Kristi's mom will be gone on a cruise this Thanksgiving and Kristi wanted a chance to do a practice run before she left so they picked Halloween to do it. It was the best thing ever!! I think it should now be tradition that every Halloween we celebrate Tick or Turkey! The only thing that was missing was a little NFL football.

After the big feast we were able to roll out of the house and take the kids do some real trick or treating. Here Pooh and Quack are getting some candy.

Kristi holding down the penguins so they don't fly away. I didn't have the heart to tell her. "Yes penguins do have wings but they can't fly." I guess that's what makes her a good Penguin-Duck farmer.

What a great Halloween! We want to thank Lori for bringing over the Apple Pie and I guess we will now waddle off to get some more candy!

Minnesota Visit

A couple of weeks ago I flew to Minnesota for a short but AWESOME trip to celebrate some great news!!

At my mom's last doctor's appointment they told her that she was cancer free. She is doing 2 more treatments of chemo but we threw a little surprise dinner for her to celebrate the good news. My mom has been such an inspiration during this difficult time. She has had a positive attitude during this whole time and she has never wavered off the thought that she was going to beat this thing. I know it's been a very tough road and there has been many bumps but she kept her head up and kept going. She reminds me a lot of Jared Allen with the Vikings beating a block, sacking the QB, and doing a little hog tying. TAKE THAT CANCER!! YOUR THE BEST MOM!!

I would have pictures of the party but Alaska Airlines had an issue of getting me my bag. There was a flood down in the luggage area in Seattle so when we landed in Minnesota there I stood with 30 other people with no bag and no camera. When I got back to Seattle they did reimburse me for my underwear, socks, contact solution, deodorant, and other things that I had to buy at Wal-Mart, so I guess it's not all bad.

The other thing that I did while I was at home was I helped my dad cut some wood with my brother Josh. We pretty much took the woods by storm, to be honest the trees really never had a chance because when you get the three of us together we move like lightning.

Here we are heading out into the woods.

Here Josh and Dad are cutting away. They took on the cutting duties as I stacked the wood in the trailers. We all pretty much know that the person stacking the wood is pretty much the most important person out there. Plus I will show you just how fast I was stacking a little later.

Here I am with my brother Josh after getting everything cut and loaded.

We were able to cut three pretty big loads for my dad. The only sad thing is when I talked to him this past weekend he told me that he burnt through half of it already. He must like burning wood! I guess I will just have to fly back and help cut some more.

Here we all are! I kind of feel bad for the woods though because they didn't even see us coming. I also love my dad's back light, turn signal. What happened to that? It just melted! I told you I was moving fast stacking the wood here is my proof! That thing looks AWESOME!

BEFORE I GO.....WAY TO GO MOM & CANCER SUCKS!!!

2nd Trip to Pumpkin Patch

These are a little late but I still want to get them on here. After work one day Kristi, the kids, and I decided to hit a nearby pumpkin patch to find Addy a little pumpkin to decorate. Here Addy and I are scoping the field for the perfect pumpkin. As you can see this was very entertaining for Owen. He's like, "Wake me when it's over!"

I guess we can't forget how entertaining this was for Easton as well, "Are we done yet?"

This is a little out of order but the computer won't let me move these pictures so we will just have to go with the flow. My mom sent these t-shirts for the kids. Owen says "I love my mummy!" Addy's says, "Bootiful!" and Eastons says, "BOO!" I guess they ran out of clever sayings and decided to stick with what works.

Here Addy is sitting with the Craven Farm Royalty. On the left is King Pumpkin, on the right is Queen pumpkin, and in the middle it says, "Just a pumpkin!" LOVE IT!

Here Kristi and Addy are making there way up to the Animal petting area. This little pumpkin/petting farm/farmers market was pretty cool. I wish we had chosen a little nicer day and there was a little less mud but what do you do. It's all about spending time with family, right!
A little family picture. This is right before the twins fell asleep and were pretty much done helping Addy look for the perfect pumpkin. I'm not sure but I think Snoopy and Charlie Brown wouldn't appreciate there attitude, if you know what I'm saying!
Here I am with the kids.
Kristi and Addy AKA...Pumpkin Scarecrow and Pumpkin Snow Woman at your services.

Here we are just before heading in. If you look closely you can see Easton with his eyes close. Seriously this kid needs to stay off the NightQuil!

Vikings

As the Vikings perfect season comes to an end, I find myself fighting back tears as I write this. A game that was so close to becoming another win with a perfect drive by Farve in the last 2 minutes, but with the help of the refs with a stupid tripping call earlier in the game, it didn't happen!!

With that said, I am pleased to inform you that all these pictures in this blog entry are not from the Steelers/Vikings game today. They are from the Green Bay Packers and the Vikes game on the big stage that they call Monday Night Football (I LOVED THAT DAY)! If they were from today all you would see is me yelling at the TV. I'm not sure when, but earlier in the year we decided to host a party on the date Farve would face his old team. I am so thankful that we did and that the good guys won!

Here is a picture of all the kids: from the left starting at wide receiver Andrew "I'll burn you like a cheap cigarette" Dyk! On the other side, it's the man that will make you faint if you watch his legs instead of his hips, Mason DDDDYYYYKKKK! Starting at QB the man that is almost 40 years younger then our current quarterback Rysen "Lock in Load" Tuomisto and coming out of the back field it's the A-bomb with the A-moves on the A-Train ADDY "ring the TD" Belle GAAAMMMMRRRADDT

No one can play on game day with out a nutritional dinner. Here are the players eating their pre-game meal Mac-n-cheese! On the right kind of out of view is the man who will kick you a 74 yard field goal if you need one Kai!! He just goes by Kai don't even try to give him a last name because he will kick your teeth in.
I think this is my favorite picture. Why you ask? Because this is the view the Packers saw all night, that's right reading the back of our Jerseys!! Take that Green Bay!! Still LOVE YA Jed!!

We were victorious this night and we have the worn out carpet to prove it. All I could do is pace back and forth for 97 percent of the game. I'm not kidding I made the nervous Ryan trail that went all of 4 feet. I'm just happy that at the end of the night I could say, "Nice Work Vikes!" now we just have to beat them one more time next week and I will be the happiest Viking fan in the Pacific Northwest.
You have to LOVE the mighty purple and gold!!

6 Month Check Up

I can't beleive the boys are already 6 months old! Man does time fly by. Last Thursday, with the help of my mom, I took all 3 kids to the doctor for the boys' 6-month check-up. Usually I would only take the boys since it was their check up, but Addy needed a flu shot so she had to come along. The funny thing is, she was ok with getting a shot throughout the whole appointment. She kept saying "Addy shot," and she would point to her arm. However, as soon as the nurse came in to give her the shot, she then realized that she didn't want one. The boys got a clean bill of health and 4 shots each.
Easton is rolling everywhere! He is almost on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. The scary thing is, he already pushes himself backwards. I give him a month and he will be crawling. He sits up by himself with only a little bit of assistance, and if he sees something he wants he's able to figure out how to get it (especially if it's something his brother has)!

Length - 26 3/4 inches - 60%

Weight - 17lbs 12 1/2 oz. - 53%

Head - 17 5/8 inches - 75%
Owen on the other hand doesn't really care to roll over yet. He does it when he needs too, but he's found that screaming seems to work for getting what he wants (especially if Easton's just taken a toy out of his hands). Pretty much he is like his dad and is most happy lounging on the couch watching sports!

Length - 26 1/4 inches - 50%

Weight - 15lbs 6 oz. - 10%

Head - 17 1/4 inches - 50%

The boys are eating oatmeal, sweet potatoes, pears, and prunes. They are getting the hang of eating off the spoon pretty well and seem to be improving each day. I am starting to introduce a sippy cup for them and the Gerber puffs. Below are some pictures of the boys from month to month.

On a side note we are potty training Addy right now, and she pooped in the potty for the 1st time! I was so excited that I took her to Bartells and let her pick out some candy!

While Ryan's Away...

Ryan flew to Minnesota this weekend, so while he is having fun in Minnesota with his family, I decided to take that kids to a pumpkin patch. Julianne came of course because I don't know if I will ever be able to go someplace by myself until the kids can all walk (and even then I'll probably need leashes for all of them)!
But before we went to the pumpkin patch we had to take care of a little problem in Addy's room. This morning I went into Addy's room to wake her up for church, and it smelled like she pooped her pants. To my surprise she didn't have any poop in her diaper. When we got back from church, Julianne and I hunted around Addy's room to figure out what was causing the smell. Julianne was the lucky one to open up the crawl space door and find a dead rat in there. I of course freaked out and was trying to figure out who I could call that would be willing to come and take care of the rat. To my amazement Julianne offered to remove the rat herself. I can't even tell you how bad it smelled and gross it was to see a dead rat. Luckily the smell is finally gone.
Now that the rat was taken care, we decided to stop by Target to get the boys some winter hats for the pumpkin patch. Of course the only size hats that they had were 2T, but I bought them anyway. As you can see with the last picture, the hats don't fit very well, but they are really cute. I also found some Hello Kitty rubber boots for Addy. (Side note: make sure when you buy new boots for your kid, your kid has time to get used to walking in them before you walk around in the mud.) I can't tell you how many times Addy tripped with her boots, or she would come out of her boots. We didn't come home with any pumpkins because by the time we got there, went on a hay ride and bought some delicious doughnuts, Addy let us know that she was tired and ready to go home. Next time I need to plan a little better around her nap time. Ryan and I are planning on taking the kids to another pumpkin patch on Thursday so stay tuned for more pictures and hopefully she will walk better in her boots.
