BBQ!!!

I Know!! Lori has already posted this event on her blog two days ago. I'm not even going to try and keep up with her when it comes to blogging because I will get blown out of the water but here is our post.
On Saturday we gathered at Lori, Matt, and Andrews house for a little spring time BBQ. Here is a picture of Kai, Andrew, and Addyson. As you can see Addyson isn't a happy camper right now. This is kind of surprising because she is usually pretty good about doing pictures but this time she didn't want anything to do with it.

Here's Kai on top of the slide. He was showing me on how he skips the slide all together and just jumps to the grown. It's actually pretty funny!! I tried to get a picture of him in the air but our camera is to slow.
Andrew with his bat and ball looking for a pick up game. "Now batting for the Minnesota Twins....#24.... Andrew Dyk." That's right Matt, he's going to be playing for the Twins, not the Mariners, The 1987 & 1991 World Series Champions the Minnesota Twins.

I love this picture. Here's Addy in Andrews play car in a much better mood. She was all smiles here!!

Here I am trying to teach her how to drive a stick. She really doesn't understand the whole clutch thing. I also told her that she was on her own for gas and that she needs to check her oil on a regular bases. As you can see she was getting a little frustrated..AGAIN!!

Play Date With Andrew

Last Thursday Kristi & Addyson went over to Matt, Lori, and Andrew's house for a little play date. From the reports from Kristi they had a blast. I heard Andrew was a gentlemen and was a great playmate. Hopefully they can do it again...soon.
A little while ago Kristi and I bought some bubbles at Fred Meyer, so we could have a little fun with Addyson. The thing that we bought is just the old school...dump the stick...and blow the bubbles. Well I guess Andrew has a little machine that blows a lot of bubbles all at once. How awesome is that!!
Matt and Lori, I just want you to know if your bubble machine goes missing, we had nothing to do with it. I have no clue where it could of gone. We will also need a heads up from now on when you are planning on coming over to visit so we could straighten up....aka....hide something.

Sad Night!!

Minnesota's hockey season came to an end tonight, meaning that they will not be raising the Stanly Cup above their heads this year. So in their honor, I raise my Stanly Cup over my head as a salute to them. I guess I can look on the bright side ans say there is only 168 days until the 2008-2009 season. (if they start on the same day they did last year.) Wild!!Thanks for the season this year but please can we get out of the first round next year.

We live in Seattle and not in Minnesota...Right?

Riley in the backyard in the snow...wondering what in the world is going on. She was looking at Kristi like she was asking "It was 80 degrees a week ago...Right?"
For the morning show we went live with, wall to wall snow coverage. (BIG SURPRISE) Since we live in the area that got the most snow I was working pretty close to our house. Krist watching TV at home notice, that we were like 5 minutes from our neighborhood so she and Addy surprised me with a little visit.
If you look at the trees you can see how much snow we got and this is already mid-morning. There were actually countless trees by our house that snapped in half because of the wet, heavy snow that fell through the night.
Since they came to visit I decide to put Addyson to work. "What button should I push Dad?"

"Dad...I think I got the hang of this." "If I slide this bar with my foot they can hear us, then I also have my hands to push more buttons...see....your job is easy."

There are some benefits of living in Seattle over Minnesota, like the mountains, less humidity, no mosquito's, and mild winters so I think mother nature was a little confused when I woke up this morning. When I left for work on April 19th we had 7 1/2 inches of snow on the ground.... that's right......7 1/2 INCHES. Now, I know that there were only a couple of pockets in the Seattle area where it snowed that much., it just happen that we were right in the middle of it. I could see this in Minnesota but not in Seattle. THIS IS CRAZY!!

A nice little visit.

Kurt, Addy, and I at Claim Jumpers having a couple of beers and a little soup.

Uncle Kurt with Addyson

My younger brother Kurt had a layover in Seattle, when he flew back from Minnesota to his base in Hawaii. His plane was late coming in so instead of three hours we had only an hour and a half but we made the most of it. It was so nice to see him. This was the first time Addyson was able to visit with her uncle and the first time since our wedding, three years ago that we had a chance to see Kurt. I know he's a grown man now but it's so weird for me as an older sibling to see how much he has grown in the past 5 years. I guess that's what the Marines will do to ya. I would of never said this when we were kids but I really think if we got into one of those brotherly spats I would be the one running as fast as I could from him instead of him running from me, the kid is a brick house and he's so dang tan it makes me sick.

I know he has plans to fly home for our family vacation in January with his family, Courtney, Savannah, and their new addition, Keaton so it will nice to meet them for the first time and to have a little more time to visit.

One Wild Family!!

Wild for the Wild that is!! I know most of you don't care but this is an exciting time for us as the Minnesota Wild begin the playoffs. They had a great regular season so we are hoping for the best. The only problem is that are defense is really banged up with a couple of key guys out so I'm already expecting the worst. I'm sure you are already bored with this hockey talk so I will let you go but if you want to come over for a game, just give us a call because we get them all thanks to Directv Center Ice package.

Best of Friends

We have decided to put this post in here just to make Grandma Linda worry. I think it is more than fair to say that Grandma is not a dog person. I believe she thinks Riley is like a vicious black bear but in reality she is just a big, clumsy, licking machine.

One thing that we have been really surprised about is that before we had Addyson, Riley would play and tear apart anything that even looked like a toy so we were anticipating many toys being chewed but I am pleased to say that she has not chewed or destroyed ONE toy. I better go an knock on some wood.
Riley and Addyson just relaxing on the couch with me.

At first we didn't know how Riley and Addyson would react to each other but it seems they have become the best of friends. It doesn't happen a lot but there are times were Riley will just come and lay down next to Kristi and I and place her paws over our lap. One day when Kristi was playing with Addyson on the ground Riley came by, laid down, and put her paws on Addyson. I think that was Riley's official, "Welcome to the family." gesture.

Sleeping Habits

Here's Addyson sleeping in her weird positions again. The top picture is her and I on the couch. The bottom one is her sleeping in her swing. I'm not really sure why she does it but I guess as long as she is comfortable and sleeping soundly, she can sleep any way she wants. She also has this little music thing that is attached to her crib and when you push the button it lights up and plays music. Last night, I turned it on for her but she took her foot and hit the off button at first I thought it she just did it by accident so I turned it on again and within three seconds she took her foot and hit the off button. Now I'm AMUSED, so I turned it on again and within 3 seconds she took her foot and turned it off. Her and I played this game for like 5 minutes and then I thought she better get some sleep so I just kept it off. Baby, they always seem to amaze us!!

Gramdma Pat & Grandma B

Addyson and Grandma Pat our last visit to Minnesota.
I searched and searched but could not find a picture of Grandma B but if I find one I will post it.

On Saturday my Grandma Pat lost her battle with cancer. She was a women filled with so much inner strength and was a person that would never give up. She won so many battles but when it comes to cancer it's VERY hard to win the war. I have so many special memories of her but I think one of my favorites is just sitting down and playing cards. We would play this game called GOLF. I'm not even sure if it's a well known game or not but on a nice day with a cool glass of kool-aid you couldn't beat it.

I'm also sad to report that my Grandma B past two weeks and a day before Grandma Pat. I can say that Grandma B fits the perfect Grandma mold. When you picture an image of a Grandmother in your mind that's Grandma B. Pleasant, kind, and everything else. I think the thing I will remember the most is the summer weekend or weekends that we would spend at the cabin in Millerville. Although it has probably been 15 years since I have been there I can still remember those days like they were yesterday.
Our heart goes out to my Step-Father Gene (Grandma Pat's son) and my Step-Mother Cele (Grandma B's daughter). We want you to know that we are thinking about you and are praying for the both of you during this difficult time.

Grandma Pat and Grandma B, we will MISS you!!

Happy Birthday You Crazy Animals!!

36 years ago today one small little boy was born in Central Washington in a small town where they only commute by horses. 37 years ago on the same day a little girl was born in Western Washington with the known fact that she would grow up to be a band speaker wire puller, crazy cat girl!! By fate their paths would cross and they would become known as Crockett (SP) and Tubs. A friendship that would grow into something special and could never be matched. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU BOZO's! OK, we need to get an updated picture of Tim and Addy. This is the only one I could find. I guess Tim will have to fly over here again and we will have to have a little photo shoot. "Mommy....Auntie Brooke will not stop talking." We actually have a lot of pictures of Addyson and Brooke but I thought this one represented Brooke the best. Man she is a TALKER!!
Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU CRAZY ANIMALS!!

Random Pictures

These are some pictures of Addy that we never got a chance to blog about. The first one she is just chillin' with Dad. The second one is her and Riley hangin' out. Riley is really good around her, except she loves to lick her and I mean lick. Luckily for us Addy finds it funny and usually will start to laugh. The 3rd one is when Grandma Pair came to visit since she had been in Texas for a week she was really missing Addy and needed to see her. The last one was taken a while ago, we have been meaning to post it so Grandma Linda could see how cute Addy looks in the skirt she got her.

Easter 2008!

I know we are a little late on blogging about our Easter. Since we have received a few emails from people asking about it. Here are pictures of Addyson's 1st Easter. We had Easter dinner at our house this year since my mom was in Texas. I cooked my 1st ham and everything turned out great. Addyson loved her Easter basket and all the toys in it. Lucky for us the Easter bunny brought Ryan and I's favorite candy since she can't have any yet.
