Pact Broken

Life is funny sometimes.....for instance, if any of my brothers came up to me and told me that they burnt down my house, spent all my money at the bar, and sold my dog I would respond by saying, "That's COOL!" that's just the relationship I have with them. When it comes to Kristi, Brooke and Tim are those special individuals. If we have something planned and it could be something we have had planned for five years if Brooke and Tim wanted to do something different, we would drop everything that we were doing and do what they wanted to do. It's just one of those things but for this ONE time, I beat out Tim and Brooke because yesterday we bought a minivan and the pact between Brooke, Tim, and Kristi about never buying a minivan is now BROKEN.

Now, we told ourselves that we were going to just take it easy, look around, take our time, and then buy one some time after the New Year but after a long night of research we narrowed it down to the make and model that we wanted. Then after an Internet search we found a dealership that had three minivans that we liked and were in the price range that we felt comfortable with, after visiting that dealer all I can say is everything before about taking our time is now just history.

We purchased a 2005 Toyota Sienna with 33,000 miles on it. It is an XLE so it has some cool bells and whistles. I think the biggest one for Kristi is the powered side doors and powered hatch.

Here is the outside of the van. (I guess I really didn't need to tell you that!)

One of the biggest features that I like is the dual temp controls. Now Kristi can have her side up in the 90's and I can have mine in the 60's

Here is the view from the back. The van that we purchased came with a factory DVD player which will entertain the kids or parents when we are out on a road trip. It also came with two wireless headphones and a remote, two things we really liked.

Here is the picture of the back seats. The third row does stow away which will be nice when we go to Costco and buy out ALL their diapers so we have enough for the twins.

Although we love everything about it I know it will take sometime to get use to and after buying it I could tell it took a lot out of Kristi. When we left the dealership I could tell she wasn't feeling to hot. I don't think it was just because we bought the van I think it was mostly because of the twins and having a long day. In fact today she spent the whole day in bed recuperating, so we really just drove it home from the dealer last night and that was it. I did run one quick earn today but besides that it has just sat in our garage...maybe tomorrow.

I don't blame Kristi for staying in bed all day... I think I am going to call in sick tomorrow just from reading this blog post! But congrats on the purchase... I'm already searching for a babies on board sign.

You are going to love it!! If I hadn't had a mini van, with 6 boys and 1 ton of hockey equipment, someone would have had to walk. I is great! I wish I had all the bells and whistles when I had a van.

I forgot to add in the blog that Kristi and I are searching for some carpet to put on the dashboard. If anyone knows where I could find some that would be great. (J/K) I think I might of just made Tim have to call in sick 1 more day with that comment.

Looks great Ryan and Kristi, I know Josh is drooling over it right now. I'm sure we will have to join the Van family in the future. It is great you got one that has many nice features on it. That is the way to go.

That is one sweet ride! I might retract my statement that they're unacceptable if you only have one kid!! :)

Congratulations to Ryan and my deepest condolences to Kristi. But Kristi, I promise, a year from now, you will be lovin' that minivan! I swear. Really.

Now all you need to do is join the PTA, buy some mom jeans, and get one of those great mom haircuts and you'll be all set! :)

Hope you are starting to feel a little better -- thinking about you guys every day!

You know how we feel about minivans...they are great. You are going to love every minute of it--
So get out and cruise around--I do say NO to the 'babies on board' sign...that is pushing it.
Kristi, you will grow to love it, not to worry. :)

love you guys-
