Connect the Pox!

This is just our luck!! At Addyson's 1 year check up the doctor gave her two shots, 1 was the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) and the 2nd one was a chicken pox vaccination. Before he gave her the shot he explained to us all the risks. He explained that 1 out of 3 get soreness or swelling where the shot was given, 1 out of 10 get a fever, 1 out of 20 get a mild rash, 1 out of 1,000 will seizure, and we heard only about 5% actually get chicken pox. Well guess what!! We are in the 5% because Addyson has Chicken Pox. Here is a picture of her back. I know they are hard to see but she has little spots all over her tiny little back.

In this picture you really can't see anything but believe me she has spots all over her face, neck, and tummy. I feel so bad for her. She seems to be in very good spirits. She is still eating, playing and doing all the same things but you still feel bad.

(IF YOU CLICK ON THE PICTURE, ITS SUPPOSED TO POP UP BIGGER AND YOU CAN SEE THE SPOTS A LITTLE BETTER)

After talking to the nurse on the phone and getting some advice from her, we decide to run down to the store and get some Calamine Lotion. Addy doesn't seem to be itching them but we thought better safe then sorry. Here is a picture with the Calamine Lotion all over her back after taking a bath.

We also put it on her forehead and belly, well actually we pretty much put it everywhere. I guess the next step might be giving her an oat meal bath. My vote is for the Maple and Brown Sugar Oat Meal that has the high in fiber content because everyone needs FIBER!! We'll keep you all posted on how everything is going but so far our little girl is going through it in stride.

Chick pox or no chicken pox, this girl is damn cute. Luckily she seems to be handling things very well. Just remember, all of us had chicken pox, I'm the only one that came out kind of weird in the end.
