Twins Update!!

The Twins are close to signing Jason Kubel to a two-year deal with an option. That option would clear up one of the Minnesota Twins many arbitration eligibles....OH I'M SORRY... this is supposed to be a twins update not a Minnesota Twins update. I'm sorry here we go!!

Kristi and I went to the doctor yesterday to get a growth ultra sound done on the boys along with a check on Kristi's cerclage.

The twins are looking good. As of right now there size could be compared to a polish sausage. The doctor was able to see both kidneys, all 4 chambers of the heart, the bladder, the stomach, and everything else that goes along those lines and everything looks good for both Baby A and Baby B.

Baby A was head down. He had a heart rate of 146 and weighed 1lb 13 0z putting him in the 23 percentile.

Baby B was also head down. He had a heart rate of 144 and weighed 1lb 14 oz putting him in the 32 percentile. The reason why there is a 9% difference between the two even though they are only 1 oz different is because Baby B's belly is measuring big.

Baby B's belly was in the 44 percentile and Baby A's was only in the 15 percentile. There is no concern about it being bigger it just means he is eating more then Baby A.

Both boys were moving a lot, in fact I think the quote from the doctor was, "They're passing the moving part just fine." and every time I look at Krisit now it seems she is touching her stomach feeling them kick.

Kristi is doing well. She is relaxing on the couch and getting caught up on LOST and other tv shows during the day taking it easy but that is good since that is what she is supposed to be doing. Her cerclage looks good and her cervix is measuring where it is supposed to be. The doctor will continue to monitor it about every two to three weeks and is expected to take it out around the 33-34 week mark unless she is experiencing contractions before then but we are hoping and are confident that she will make it to that mark.

Here is a picture of Baby B - She was not able to get a picture of Baby A - I'm going to let it go this time because I really liked this ultra sound tech but again. I don't care if all you can see is a speck of Baby A it would be nice to get a picture of him so we can add him to the blog as well.

Glad to hear that everything is going well. Baby A is going to be a character, since he seems to enjoy keeping us all in suspense! Enjoy the relaxation while you can Kristi!
