Potty Time

Let the potty training begin!! We have recently started the fun process of potty training. It's going pretty good for the most part. The greatest part is Addy totally understands when we ask her, Do you need to go potty? She will look straight up at you, walk to the bathroom, and start taking her pants off but when that happens she usually just sits on the toilet and stares at you like, "Well this is fun."

Juliane started this whole process. I'm not sure how but she was able to get her to go the very first time she sat on the toilet. If Kristi or I decided to try that Addy would of been like, "What are you doing." and we would probably still be sitting there waiting for Addy to go but Juliane has that special touch. I'm not sure how but she has it. After that day we started the introduction to the toilet by just letting her just sit on the toilet for a couple of minutes. In most cases not a whole lot would happen but it is getting better and we are trying to get into more of a routine so Addy gets more and more familiar with the process.

Here's Addy right before she got her own little toilet sitting on the big toilet enjoying her bottle. I love this picture because she's just sitting there like, "What's Up....Nothing To See Here!!"

We kind of got it figured out. The best time to get her to go is right after she wakes up in the morning or wakes up from a nap. Addyson also likes it when you sit her on the toilet, close the door, and let her have a little alone time. I'm not sure why but it works, not all the time but it does work.

"A LITTLE PRIVACY PLEASE"

After she goes we do give her Gummy Care Bears just as a little treat to say Thank You and Good Job!! If you have any other tips or ideas feel free to share.

Go Addy!! Andrew has been asking to use the potty but has yet to actually go in it. And he only likes to sit there for about 30 seconds. Maybe he needs his privacy. :)

I'm the same way...I'm always getting stage fright. In fact, that may be something that runs in the family.
