That Motherly Touch!!

This past week my mother flew in from Minnesota to visit Addy and to assist us in converting our guest room into the twins room. When we started Kristi and I had a couple of ideas but no worries we knew if we left it up to our moms we would be in good hands. After a little shopping and looking around on the Internet we decided to go with a jungle/safari theme. We started with panting the room with a color called Warm Earth (Brownish color) We got some really cool crib sets and we were on our way.

I wish we could show you the room finished but it won't be completely done for a little while yet but this will give you and idea. If your wondering why??? The reason is that Kristi's cousin is staying with us while she tries and sells her house back in Spokane. We LOVE having Julianne around and she is so much help with Addy and Kristi so as far as we are concerned she can stay as long as she wants....maybe not past the twins 12th birthday but I don't think that will be a problem.

Here is a picture of all of us putting some final touches on the wall and finishing hanging all the shelves in the closet. Addy wanted to add these star candles on a stick but I'm sorry to say they didn't make it but she is still the best looking toddler I have ever seen.

Here is window valance. I know the walls look a little plain right now but we do have some great ideas and remember baby steps people.

Here comes the touch only my mother could add....One of the things Kristi and I really wanted to do was put the twins names on the wall. We thought it would be a GREAT idea to buy some white letters ...OH NO...that's not ok with my mom. She had the brilliant idea of buying some white letters, painting them a color that actually accents the wall and put these safari animals on them but ....OH NO....they couldn't be just any animals they had to be antiqued (that she did her self) She then decided that we could use them to connect the letters of each of the names. To finish it off, we thought it would be alright just to hang them on the wall...OH NO... she had this idea of buying some eye hooks and curtain rods, paint those another accent color (rusty color) then drill the hooks into the tops of the letters and hang them on the curtain rod. LOVE IT!! She just has that touch to make something that would of looked good, add some things, and make it look MAGNIFICENT!! In this picture you don't see them with the eye hooks in them or hanging on a curtain rod but this will give you an idea.

I'm not sure if we let the cat totally out of the bag yet but we did make the names official as you can see above. If your wondering or curious here are their full names.

Twin A - Easton James Gamradt (James after Kristi's dad)

Twin B - Owen Robert Gamradt (Robert after my dad)

Kristi, Addy, and I want to say a big THANK YOU to our moms for helping us with the room. I can honestly say if we did it by ourselves it wouldn't look half this nice. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!

Hi Ryan and Family!
I was looking at Trisha's facebook page and saw your post on her page and saw the word "cribs" as in plural! Chad and I have twin girls who will be 3 the end of May. With Carrie and you and your family expecting twins I think there must have been something in the water in Linden Hall! :) We are doing great and wish you and your family well! It's a whirl, but awesome! Many well wishes from Duluth, MN! Peace & Love, Michelle & Chad Pierson

Hey guys the room looks great! how fun to fill it up with two little boys very soon! It may be a good thing that you live so far away because if Oliver and Easton and Owen lived close together I am guessing they could really do a lot of damage in the future :) I take that back it would be great to have them close, we would just have to take that risk with the trouble!
Miss you guys,
Laura and Oliver
