Key's to a PERFECT game!

Day 6

I think bowling has to be one of the most fun things to do as a family. I mean it consist of throwing a ball as hard as you can, down an oiled lane, and knocking over pins. What more fun is that. I remember back in Sauk when I was a young kid we would go to RCL's with my Grandma and Grandpa who used to be pretty dang good bowlers. I guess that's why they bowled in a league. I still remember when you walked in, the bar was on the right, the lanes were on the left, and the pool tables where in the middle and when you left you always smelled like smoke. It was the BEST THING EVER!! I hate to say and I am sad to say but I think RCL's is now a parking lot.

When we drove over to Colfax to visit Grandma Betty we decided we would take a little detour to Pullman and hit the lanes.

As I now start my journey in training Addy into becoming a member of the PBA I start by telling her a couple of key things she needs to know in order to have a perfect game. 1 Finding that right ball, which is impossible unless you buy your own. To me the finger holes are always to far apart, to close together, the ball is way to light, or way to heavy. I mean don't you think the government should at least supply each person with one bowling ball through out their lifetime. I mean look at this confused child deciding whether to go with the yellow one or the yellow one!! COME ON PEOPLE!!

2. Proper nutrition. I don't think cheese fries are on the top of the PBA nutrition meal plan and I'm almost positive none of the pro's eat and bowl at the same time but Addy does do it with grace.

3. Focus!! You need to concentrate in every frame and always visualize on your ball placement or you can just turn around and make sure no one is eating your cheese fries while your ball is headed towards the pins!!

4. Never forget your turn!! "What...It's my turn....Daddy be right back!!"

5. Confidence! "What are you talking about? I knew it was my turn all the time Daddy!!" "Can we get more cheese fries!"

6. Get the highest score. If you look at the top under where it says Julianne you will see Addy bowled a 72...not to bad with gutter protectors, a bowl glider, and a tummy full of food!!

Now forget all that crap I just said and listen to the to the true keys to the game. There are only two. 1. Always look good in your bowling shoes!! 2. Have fun!!

I'm sorry I forgot one more. 3 Always ride the fire truck on your way out!!

Easton and Owen came out to see their big sisters bowling debut!!

Here is Easton's response when Addy wins the National Championship Game Playoffs. "Please NO more pictures!" Easton loves his sister but hates the MEDIA...Bloodsuckers!! Seriously media can't you just stop.

I had to add this picture. Who bowls with a kid in there hands? Although I do have to say it was pretty impressive and she also beat my score in the first game. In the second game I am glad to report that I bowled 4 strikes in a row which they called a (?) on the scoring screen. Answer in the comments portion!!

See you tomorrow!!

They called it a "marathon". After doing a little research I found out in 2007-2008 ESPN announcer, Rob Stone refered to it as a "hambone" and it has stuck among the bowling community. In the past they called 2 strikes - a Double, 3 strikes - a Turkey, 4 strikes - a fourbagger (now a "hambone"), 5 strikes - a five bagger, 6 strikes - a Six Pack, 7 strikes - a sevenbagger and etc. I also learned that a "CLEAN" game is when you get a spare or a strike in every frame. WHO KNEW!!

Remember when you met Kristi for the first time?? Didn't the four of us go bowling? It's like your relationship was rooted in a solid bowling foundation.
