It's done!

Day 28

It took awhile but the dinning room is finally complete. I still have some things in the garage that I need to go through and find a new home for but I'm hoping that I can complete that task this afternoon. Overall, I really like it! It gives us so much more room, and like I mentioned before sitting at this table is so much better than sitting at our inadequate, miniature, minute, scanty, and pitiful, old table.
Besides just rearranging, the conversion of this room also challenged my carpentry skills. Which everyone in my family totally has EXCEPT for me! I was able to muster up enough talent to build some shelves for some extra needed storage space but that is pretty much as far as my wood work expertise goes.
We also got this cool shaped storage unit (at IKEA) that is divided with different shaped shelving. I like it because we can put cook books in the middle slots, pictures on the right side, and some bigger stuff on the other side. (I forgot to move that silver light so please edit that ugly thing out of your mind!) Now the dinning room isn't perfect! We still need a place to store some of the kids toys that we use on a regular basis so we had to place one of the sitting benches under our counter. We wish we didn't have to but it's one of those things where we don't have any where else to throw it so our hands are tied. I'm making it official, we have now out grown our house!! Another big THANK YOU goes out to Karen for all her help with her organizing, cleaning, and rearranging expertise!

I think the bench under the counter looks fine. You guys never really on those stools that used to be there anyway, right?

I love it! You did a great job! It will be so nice for you to have a dining room to use, and the fireplace will make it so cozy.
Can't wait to come back and see everything done.
