When my mom and Kristi got home from there little shopping spree at Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl's, Target, and Pier 1 we ended up with a lot of cool stuff but no where to put it all.
After a couple attempts of changing around furniture we decided it was time for a big change so for the past 3 days Kristi and I have not only been moving furniture around but moving rooms as well. At first we weren't sure how it was going to work. What we decided to do is take our current dining room and transform it into our extended living room/play area. Then we had to transform our family room into our new dining room. This will not only let us watch the kids a little better but we have a wood floor in our new dining room so that will help us clean up all the food when the kids decide to throw there Mac-N-Cheese every where. It's interesting because when we first looked at our house the owners had a table in the family room for everyday use, but they also had a formal table in the living room/dining room. We weren't fans of this because really who needs two tables in such a small house. Plus, Jim and Karen are letting us borrow there big table that is up at the Condo. I guess they want to down grade so we traded them for the time being so everything worked out perfectly. (We are going to get the new table on Sunday so right now that area is still under construction)
Here is the new look of our extended living room/play area. I'm not huge fan of the Jumperoo being there but what do you do and they will go away in a matter of time.

We decide to take our old decorative storage unit and make it into or toy decorative storage unit. It works out pretty well. The greatest thing with this as a storage unit it makes it a lot easier to clean up because you can just take all the toys, throw them into a basket, and your done.

We also introduced our love seat back to our living room but we did have to get rid of a nice reclining chair in the old family room. We just didn't have enough room so Jim and Karen will also be borrowing it for a little while. The only problem with adding the love seat is that we had to go and buy two more throw pillows for it. (I do like the new pillows but I don't like buying them.)

With the two pictures we got we decided to hang one up in the living room right above this new ottoman. We thought not only will the ottoman serve as a nice decorative piece but we will also now have a little extra seating for when we have guests over.

The biggest thing I like about it is that we can store all our extra blankets underneath. Just fold them up, open the lid, and throw them in can't get easier then that.
It also came with these curved trays that just sit on top. This way if you want to use it as a little snack table you can or you can just use it for Addy's drawing table.
The other picture we put up in our bedroom with our new bed set. I will admit I was a little skeptical with the color at first but now that it is all done and the picture is up I think everything goes really well together.

Again, I love all the pillows that we got and I think it adds a lot but I'm wondering who will be putting these dang thing on the bed every morning. I'm guessing I'll have to train Riley on how to do it.

We also got our new window blind yesterday, Thanks again Uncle Sam! We only got one because we wanted to make sure we got the right color and measured the window correctly so we thought it would be smart to do our closet first because if we did screw up or hated the color no one would really see it. These aren't the prettiest pictures because again it's located in our closet but I have to say, I LOVE the blinds and it was so easy to install.

I think everything looks great. Can't wait to start on the dining room and get it organized. See you Sunday with the table. Love Mom
The house looks awesome. I love the idea of moving your dining room. It's always fun to have a change in the house without paying thousands and thousands of dollars!

I want to see a pic of the dining room! :)
The Dining Room is not done yet. We are waiting for the table which comes today(Sunday)
The livingroom and play area turned out AWESOME! With the way the couch, loveseat and chair are arranged it makes a great conversation area.
Great job!
